Savory pie crust
This is similar to the sweet pie crust but stands on its own.
The crust is suitable for a variety of fillings, and you can adjust the nut mixture to match the desired filling:
– Use mostly almonds for a tuna casserole.
– Exchange about 1/3 of the almonds with chopped walnuts for a rich cheese pie.
– Add some roasted and chopped hazelnuts for a meat pie.
Make your own changes according to your imagination.
175 g ground almonds
50 g flaxseed
50 g melted butter or coconut oil
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 175° C/345° F.
Mix the dry ingredients.
Add the melted fat and the egg, and mix well.
Press into a baking pan, including up the sides.
Bake for about 10 minutes.
Add the filling and finish baking.
